Scott Chasse’s paintings explore the connections beween people and technology.  Juxtaposing the anonymous nostalgia of the past with the high-fidelity transparency of today, he produces large-scale replicas of small black and white photos.  And turning pointillism on its ear, Chasse’s use of only black dots allows viewers to cleanse their visual palettes in his compositions which exaggerate the existing positive and negative space.  The result is work that expresses a similar uniqueness while maintaining a concrete aesthetic appeal.

Scott Chasse was born in Amesbury, MA and is a graduate of the New England Institute of Art.  He currently works out of his studio in South Boston, MA where he produces paintings, screen prints on paper and textiles, and sound recordings.
