Scott Chasse’s paintings explore the
connections beween people and technology. Juxtaposing the anonymous
nostalgia of the past with the high-fidelity transparency of today,
he produces large-scale replicas of small black and white photos.
And turning pointillism on its ear, Chasse’s use of only black dots
allows viewers to cleanse their visual palettes in his compositions
which exaggerate the existing positive and negative space. The
result is work that expresses a similar uniqueness while maintaining
a concrete aesthetic appeal. |
